Watch Buying FAQ

PORTERO stands behind the watches that we sell. We provide a 1-year warranty on the functioning of automatic, manual and quartz watches.

In the first year, should your watch stop working or stop keeping time, please contact PORTERO Customer Service, and we will provide you with a FedEx label to ship the watch back to us for repair.

  • This warranty does not cover cosmetic damage or damage due to negligence or misuse.
  • We do not reimburse you for repairs that you have had performed by a third party.
  • The warranty does not cover having a battery replaced in a quartz watch.

Automatic and Manual Watches

Many high-end watches come equipped with an Automatic or Manual watch movement. These movements are not operated by a battery as they are in a Quartz watch. When you purchase an Automatic or Manual watch, it is highly likely that you will need to wind the watch once you receive it in order for it to build up a power reserve to keep time. The automatic watch will continue to keep time through the self-winding mechanism from the movement of your wrist over the course of the day, if the automatic watch has been sitting for a period of days and has not been stored on a watch winder it may need to be wound to set the time and build up a power reserve. A manual watch will need to be wound and set every morning to keep time throughout the day.
