Today's listing features a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model #1501 encased in stainless steel. This Date model is essentially a Datejust with a two millimeter smaller diameter (34mm compared to 36mm). Featuring a handsome guilloche bezel, it added a touch of extra class to Rolex's Oyster Perpetual line.
As precise as it is classic, the gem is powered by the renowned Caliber 1570 movement, the mechanism that powered certain the Date and Datejust watches as well as watches from the Submariner, Explorer, and GMT lines.
Here are some of its features:
* Oyster case crafted from a single block of stainless steel. This process originally insured that watch was impervious to water to a depth of 100m.
* Advanced self-winding movement, officially certified by the Swiss watch governing body (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) as chronometer, the highest distinction awarded to a movement based on its accuracy.
* Rolex Twinlock screw down crown for enhanced water resistance
* Elegant guilloche bezel with five minute divisions
* Classic silver dial
The watch is in pleasing original condition. The watertight Oyster case is near mint. The original silver dial is better than near mint. The Rolex Oyster bracelet is in excellent condition.
