As a true 'manufacture' of timepieces, Jaeger-LeCoultre, perhaps more than any other watchmaker, sets the standard for luxury watchmaking.
The wristwatch featured in today's offer is as a wonderful example of why Jaeger-LeCoultre's vintage watches are sought-after by connoisseurs and anyone desiring to wear a wristwatch of true distinction.
From the handsome and dramatic solid gold case with its long claw lugs, to the striking, vintage dial and hand-finished Jaeger-LeCoultre movement, each part that went into this beautiful piece exhibits the quality one expects from the Grande Masion.
We were fortunate to acquire it. The signed and personalized Jaeger-LeCoultre case is near mint. The silver "Explorer style" dial shows only fairly light signs of aging. The slightly unusual Jaeger-LeCoultre movement is running true. (This movement, the Caliber 810/AW, was used in certain Calendar Disk watches where the date is advanced through the crown). We have timed the watch on a state-of-the-art computerized system. It continues to keep accurate time, running within a few seconds per day.
