This French, high fashion house was founded in 1837 and specializes in leather, ready-to- wear, accessories and perfume. Most famous for their Birkin and Kelly handbags, which have received notoriety among some of the most well heeled women in the world and often have wait lists for several months, Hermès continues to offer artisan craftsmanship and meticulous design sensibility. In addition to “The Birkin” and “The Kelly,” named after Jane Birkin and Grace Kelly respectively, Hermès scarves have been seen on Queen Elizabeth II (who wore an Hermès scarf on a British postage stamp in the 1950’s), Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Catherine Deneuve and Jackie O. More recently, Sharon Stone, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hillary Clinton, Madonna and Oprah Winfrey have all be photographed wearing Hermès scarves.
