Just when you think animal prints are taking a back seat to newer summer trends, suddenly they’re showing up everywhere again. Here’s Cameron Diaz looking leggy as ever in sequined Pucci at the premiere of Bad Teacher yesterday. She does the right thing by keeping her accessories minimal and keeping the focus on the dress (and those legs, of course!).
Both Rosie Huntington-Whitley (above) and Lily Collins (below) also chose jungle-inspired dresses for last week’s MTV Movie Awards, accenting their ensembles with subtle metallic accessories.
It just proves the point that this animal attraction will really stand the test of time. Rather than investing in a really expensive dress, why not pick a luxe bag in a similar print? Many of our favorites have long-lasting appeal that will look great with jeans and a t-shirt or for a night out on the town. Here’s our picks for this summer:
Jimmy Choo Leopard Saba. This is the ultimate go-to day bag that will hold all of your essentials and more. Wear it with solid colors and it acts as a neutral that elevates any outfit.
Christian Dior vintage snakeskin handbag. We are smitten with this old-school tophandle bag that just oozes ladylike glamour. It will be in your collection forever.
Valentino Zebra pony hair satchel. Another structured tophandle bag, this one can easily go from day to night.

Alright, I’m just going to say it: I found the Grammys kind of fun last night. Even though the winners were completely predicted by the performance right before, and even though Rihanna looks good but can’t really sing live, there were still some surprises and some great clothes. Unlike the super safe movie awards gowns, the Grammys give celebs a chance to get sassy and show their personalities. Case in point: Jennifer Hudson in Versace, Neil Lane Jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes. By far my favorite of the night, she had just the right amount of shimmer, sex appeal and class to feel rock and roll without going overboard.
Jennifer Lopez went for ultra silver shimmer in her Pucci mini, Cartier jewels, Swarovski clutch and Louboutins, but it works. She followed the rule of short skirt, long sleeves, and went minimal on the hair and makeup. The Grammys are really all about the sequin, so JLo knew that to make a statement, she’d have to rock the look from head to toe.
My final favorite was Lea Michele, also opting for Pucci. But her dress couldn’t be more different than JLo’s – instead of sparkle, she chose a plunging neckline with lace inserts and a sky-high slit. The hot pink lips and Lorraine Schwartz bracelet were the perfect additions to a slinky, sultry ensemble.
If you want to get your own red carpet rock and roll look, a silver clutch will never do you wrong. Here are some of our favorites:
