Primary Instincts

This spring is full of happy fashion trends, including bright colors.

As it turns out, there’s an intriguing biological reason for why we’re attracted to primary colors — red, yellow and blue. “We are drawn to the simplicity of the primary palette because it taps into our inner child,” wrote Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s color expert on her own blog.

She was referring to artist Mondrian, whose work is a wonderful inspiration for this season’s color blocking. When you’re the canvas, you might wear red pants, a bright blue shirt, a black blazer, black shoes and a yellow handbag. Check out how Jessica Alba pulled these colors together for Brad Goreski’s book party. It also inspired our featured collection this week. We’re loving the Louis Vuitton petite Noe bag, Chloé tote and Hermès Medor Bracelet Watch, above. A pop of color — always in style.
