Everybody loves the Hermès Collier de Chien

Feeling a little bit dangerous and a lot fashionable? Time to slip a Hermès Collier de Chien onto you wrist.

Also known simply as CDC, the name translates to “dog collar,” but we assure you that the iconic bracelet with eight rounded spikes is for people.

The belt version has been around since 1927 and the bracelet was introduced in the 1940s. They’ve made a comeback in recent years thanks to a celebrity cult following. (Just Google Rachel Zoe and Collier de Chien.)

The classic piece is getting some fresh attention in New York Magazine’s Fall 2012 Street Style Olympics Closing Ceremony Awards (image, below). Love the gold medalist who mixed her Collier de Chien with bangles and a watch. Definitely, tough enough.
