Today's offering showcases this distinctive and pleasing example of one of Omega's vintage gent's Geneve watches. Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records. It features a refinished blue gradient dial, classic steel case and automatic caliber 1012 Omega movement. The dial is more striking than we were able to get it to show in the photos. It is fully Omega down to the hands, crown, and even signed crystal. It is in gorgeous condition and presents as mint. It is keeping time nearly like a chronometer in five testing positions.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF OMEGA

When Neil Armstrong took his first step onto the moon proclaiming, "This is one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," he leapt with the first and only timepiece to land on the moon, Omega.

In La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland 1848, Louis Brandt founded Omega with the foundation of providing innovative and well-crafted timepieces. Now, Omega stands as the official timekeeper of 21 Olympic Games and the official chronometer for NASA.

Omega has been adored by many leading public figures including President John F. Kennedy and Prince William. The Omega brand has also been sponsored by celebrities and athletes such as George Clooney, Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman, and Michael Phelps.
